Personal Info

My experience, training, and expertise as a clinician and a researcher make me well-suited to successfully complete the proposed research project. I have extensive training in psychology as well as expertise in treating Veterans with PTSD in a VA setting. I am an experienced researcher who has successfully carried out multiple projects. I served as the Local Site Investigator and a Study Therapist for CSP #591 “Comparative Effectiveness Research in Veterans with PTSD (CERV-PTSD)” at the VA Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. This study is a randomized control trial that compares the effectiveness of Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure in treating PTSD symptoms and has a similar design to the proposed project. I am also presently Co-Investigator for the study “Outcomes of a Holistic Yoga Program Designed to Relieve PTSD (RELIEVE trial),” funded by a VA Rehabilitation Research and Development Merit Award. From 2010 to 2014, I served as Project Director and co-developer for the study “Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD and Relationship Function,” also funded by a VA Rehabilitation Research and Development Merit Award. Through my previous experiences, I have demonstrated my ability to administer research projects, to collaborate with other researchers, and successfully lead study team members.
