Personal Info

Since 2009 I have served as the Deputy Associate Chief of Staff for Research (DACOS). This followed seven years as the Chair of the Clinical Nutrition Department and twelve years as a clinical dietitian. Three years before taking the DACOS position, I was a voting member and then Chair of the Institutional Review Board (IRB). It was this experience, along with my previous education and leadership training, which prepared me for the role as DACOS. The DACOS role is primarily administrative, working with investigators, the research committees, the Office of Research Oversight etc. I participate in developing programs and processes to facilitate research. But, I also have some protected time to participate in clinical research, and mentor students (at the M.S. and PhD levels). This precious time provides the most satisfying part of my job.
