Malnutrition has serious impacts for Veterans with cancer. It increases risk for cancer treatment intolerance and decreases quality of life. Despite this many cancer centers across VHA aren’t adequately staffed with dietitians. My clinical work includes providing nutrition education and support to Veterans with cancer during and after cancer treatment. My research interests include nutrition staffing adequacy in cancer centers, head and neck cancer, nutrition support, the gut microbiome, and body composition in cancer patients.
